La CHAUMIERE hiSTORY

In building his farm, Laurent Baud, woodsman and soliciter's clerk, could never imagined it was to become a hôtel.
It was his daughter Josette, a hotel manager by profession, and her husband Marius Thorens who transformed the farm into a charming small hotel.

They opened the hotel in 1934, which was to be extended and improved over the years.
Their youngest son, Michel, opened the restaurant La chamade, the centre of high gastronomy in Morzine.
Their eldest son, Robert took over thé Chaumière in 1968. The hotel was rebuilt in 1973.
In 1986, the hotel was passed on to Robert daughter, Michèle and her husband Franck Blanchi.

With its two stars rating, la Chaumière keeps its character of a family home.
The wooden decoration of the lounge, carved by Laurent Baud, is a lasting memory of the original farm "Pied des Nants".
